Sport and Luxury

This car is a Mercedes CLS550. Although it may not look like it, this four door beauty packs a serious punch when it comes to performance. It has a 4.7 litre V8 (8-cylinder) engine, which is a respectable setup for it’s size and price. The V8 engine produces a serious 402 horsepower, which is more than the similar Tesla Model S 70D. It’s curb weight is roughly 4,300lbs, and although it weighs that much and is a fairly large sedan, it’s powerful engine gets from 0 – 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.

Probably my favorite part of this car is it’s beautiful interior. Mercedes always impresses me with their interiors, but this car is an exception. It’s seats and steering wheel have a sporty look and feel, but the texture and stitching of them has an old time english feel. The wood trimming, and subtle accessories like the small manual clock are what completes the interior.

This car’s price starts at $74,850. When you compare it to other cars in that pricing like the BMW 550i, Tesla Model S 70d and Cadillac CTS-V it definitely holds its own. While the quickness and speed of it may be slightly lower than those cars, I personally think its look and interior surpasses other cars in its class by a lot.

Popular car website, Motortrend.com says that the Mercedes Benz CLS Class “feels like a proper sports sedan thanks to its performance-tuned chassis and powerful engine, giving it excellent acceleration and handling”. Also, Edmunds.com focuses their thoughts on the design of the car in their review of the CLS550 “The coupe-like Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class has a visual presence that few other luxury sedans can match. And that is something that’s not likely to change for some time to come”.

I wasn’t able to ask the owner and my close family friend, Christopher Lloyd (aka Doc Brown) any questions because he was off flying his DeLorean somewhere. Although this car may not fly or travel time, it might beat Doc’s Delorean in a street race.
